Microsoft to acquire Yahoo

There was a news article on NBC tonight that Microsoft is considering taking over Yahoo.

Question: If you were to buy stock in anticipation of a takeover, would you buy MS or Yahoo, and why?

This question is coming from a complete noob on investing.

M$ is saying they need to buy Yahoo to compete with Google ..........

well there goes my email ####ers - like I want my Yahoo Mail and YM to turn into Windows Live and MSN Messanger ........ like AOL killed IQC when they bought it ......

Yahoo would have been a good buy last week. Now the price just went up.
MS would be the long term play IF you believe the aquisition is a good thing.

BTW Google's share price has been going down. They say internet revenue is dropping with the recession. Remember Time buying out AOL.
