Disgruntled migrants fed up with the Big Apple’s crime and grime are taking off to the Great White North — on bus rides paid for by New York taxpayers, The Post has learned.

National Guard soldiers have been helping distribute tickets at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan to migrants who want to head upstate before crossing into Canada, several migrants said.

Venezuelan native Raymond Peña and his family arrived at a gas-station bus stop in Plattsburgh, NY — about 20 miles south of the Canadian border — at 4 a.m. Sunday.

“The military gave me and my family free bus tickets,” Peña said. “I am going to Canada for a better quality of life for my family.”

A National Guard source confirmed that soldiers at the bus terminal were directing migrants to workers who hand out the free tickets.

I'm mixed. Sometimes, when they're being polite, they're masking condescension. I recall a poll not long ago where Canadians strongly believed them to be MORALLY superior to Americans.

And I'm not forgetting Chretien's reaction to 9/11 which amounted to "America had it comin'".

Do these illegal migrants have passports? My family and friends in NY have said you need a passport to get into Canada and have to for several years. The last time I crossed the border in the 90's, you didn't need one.

I think there are some towns in NY where the international border runs down the center of the streets. Supposedly that made Canada's closing of the border really difficult during COVID.

Well on the surface it sounds like the smartest thing the New Yorkers have done in years.
The problem I see is a bunch of them gathering in small towns of New Yorks border as they gather to make their try into Canada. It's damned cold up there this time of year and the towns in upstate NY aren't used to dealing with illegals with no coats.
