If Jordan doesn't have the 217 votes, don't waste time taking it to the floor. The milquetoast Reps aren't going to vote for him because he started out as a back bench bomb thrower.

It sounds like Rogers, bad toupee and all, is onboard with Jordan, but Jordan failed in the first floor vote. 20 Reps voted against him.
I found it interesting that the 3 NY Congress critters who voted against Jordan voted for former NY Congressman and 2022 Governor candidate Lee Zelden. I found that interesting because there was talk at one time about nominating Trump as a temporary SOTH. We all know the Speaker does not have to be an elected member of the House. Zelden may actually be a good choice. My impression of him is generally positive from watching his run for Governor, and his appearances on Gutfeldand other FN shows. Yes, he's on the MAGA side of the Rep party, but he doesn't come off like a back bench bomb thrower like Gaetz, MTG, and Bobbert.

None of these scumbags vote their conscience. Probably because they don't have a conscience, but also because votes are a gimme game. "Gimme some stuff and I'll vote for you." It's bullshit and should be illegal.
