Military Parade

"President Trump is expected to have a military parade in the streets of Washington, something he has wanted since his first term in office. The parade never came to be during his first term, but times may have changed. Plans for a military parade are apparently in the works for Saturday, June 14, which is the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army, Flag Day and Mr. Trump’s 79th birthday. The parade, first reported by The Washington City Paper, would stretch about four miles from the Pentagon in Arlington to the White House. Mr. Trump has wanted a parade honoring the country’s military since 2018. He got the idea after seeing a French military display in 2017 and telling people at the time, “We’re going to have to try and top it.”

It's about time. Hope he brings back and allows air shows to once again fill our skies with demonstrations of our air superiority.

A side note: There's gonna be a whole lot, a-whole-lot, lots and lots of Drill and Ceremony practice practice practice going on. Which I really do not miss. Been part of way to many change of command ceremonies.

They flipped when he put military equipment on display on one of the Fourths. The celebration of the Semiquincentennial would be perfect with a detour the Black Lives plaza.

Well, according to the lefties, they will need to learn how to goose step.

A liberal was talking to me about this parade a couple days ago and the projected cost of $45mil. I wasn’t prepared for this conversation so tried to ignore him. Of course he referred to it as Trumps birthday parade and not a military parade celebrating the anniversary of the army. He assumed I would attend because I am a MAGA guy, but I didn’t have the heart to tell him I don’t plan on ever going to DC again because of what they did during Covid to their small businesses and the vaccine mandates. He wouldn’t understand because of his liberalism.

"The Army on Wednesday began preparing to ship Abrams tanks from its base in Fort Cavazos, Texas, to Washington, D.C., to participate in its 250th birthday parade along the National Mall on June 14, loading the tanks aboard trains that will depart later this month. In all, 28 M1 Abrams tanks will be sent to participate in the parade, officials said. The 250th Army celebration, which also happens to fall on President Donald Trump's birthday, has stoked speculation that Trump is using the event to get the kind of grand military parade he sought in his first term. That event was canceled, though, when cost estimates topped $90 million. Also included will be Bradley Fighting Vehicles and Stryker vehicles, along with World War II-era platforms such as the M4 Sherman tank, the Douglas C-47 transport aircraft and the P-51 Mustang fighter. Cobra and Huey helicopters will be included among the 50 Army aircraft in the parade, as will 34 horses, two mules, one wagon and a dog."

If anyone in this administration hasn't taken into consideration the "mostly peaceful protests" that are sure to spontaneously break out during Riot Season (aka "Juneteenth"), they're not fit to hold public office. And that includes President Trump.

Unless military vehicles are locked and loaded, and the military participants as well.

I'd pay real money to see that.

Aren‘t the streets in DC screwed up enough? It’s the only place in the US whose streets make Michigans look well maintaimed.
