Excellent acting, directing, realistic locations and very well done overall. The ending was a supreme downer to me but to others, it wasn't. I prefer happy movies.

Definitely worth the rent and perhaps even a buy. I loved the hardened Eastwood character best.:yay::yay::yay:

I saw it last week, I thought it was great! I had heard people say it was not about boxing but instead euthanasia, I saw a flick about boxing... And given Maggies quality of life, I would have done the same thing...

Haven't watched it yet but I've got a free rental (it was out of stock) from blockbuster.
They have tons of copies now. I thought it was out of stock the last few times I went there but apparently they changed the look of their casings.

I was on an overnight flight from South America last weekend and this movie was on the program. It never ran! Bummer.

Great flick!

Clint Eastwood put that together, describable only by a wow!

Morgan Freeman's last round in the ring had me off the couch cheering for him! That's some acting! :smiling:

And tough girl, Hillary Swank, really had me mesmerized with her skills... I cannot even begin to express the appreciation I have for her in the way she gets inside of her character and the physical training she went through for the film.

I found the story to be about life - gifts, amends, guilt, innocence, overcoming what's been set in front of you and setting your own course, doing the right thing and letting go.

I loved it.

But wait, there's more...
I just finished watching this for the first time. Great flick :yay: :yay: but damn the ending was a downer. :ohwell:

If you think the movie was good read the book it came from!

Jerry Boyd under the pen name F.X. Toole wrote "Rope burns" a collection of short stories inspired by his boxing and training career. Some are uplifting some incredibly sad. But ALL of them are good.
