Miniature Dachshund

AKC Registered four year old red and black longhaired mini dachshund needs loving humans to adopt him. In his current home, one of his humans is allergic to him...

Also, he needs more attention than he is getting right now. He came from a home that had 12 other mini's - into his current home, where he's the only doggie and everyone is gone all day. It would be great if his new humans had another doggie friend for him.

He's almost four years old and weighs 11 pounds and is up to date on all his shots. He has not been fixed - we have never tried to breed him. He's VERY friendly and affectionate. He's crate trained, but we keep him loose in the house all the time, although he's confined to certain rooms. He likes to play fetch and loves toys that make noise.

Please let me know via pm if you know someone who is interested in him. We can let him go for $300.00 - includes crate, bowls, bag of food, many toys, collar, leash, sweaters, etc.

Thanks for any help...

I don't know the answer, but isn't there a normal limit on how much a mini dachshund should weigh. I've owned two of them in the past, lovely dogs, and the male weighed 7 pounds which seemed high. My female was 5 pounds.

Anything over 11 lbs is not considered a mini- so this one is at the top end of the scale- but still a mini.

My 1 yr old mini is 4 lbs but she is a real runt

I didn't know you had a mini... I thought you just had boxers (wasn't it Scarlet, Maryland, and Blizzard?) - and other assorted exotics!

How long have you had her?

My sister has one that's 5 years old and 7 pounds. She's adoreable!

Minis are anywhere from 3 to 12 pounds according to standard; but there are exceptions as I have a mini who weighs 14 pounds, low to ground but very, very long with lots and lots of fur (not fat by any means).

I have 2 mini dauchshunds. One, I know for sure is a mini and he is 12 pounds. The other I was told was a mini, but he doesn't look too mini. He is very long, but he only weighs 15. I have seen those that are not mini and you can tell right away, they are much longer and wider.

Sale not adoption. Fix that dog before you sell him. And shouldn't this be on the classifieds
