Deadly shooting near George Floyd protest as looting, arson grip Minneapolis

Protests in Minneapolis over the death of George Floyd took a dramatic turn for the worse Wednesday night as city police responded to stores in the city being looted and burned as well as a deadly shooting at a protest location.

Multiple reports indicated that Mayor Jacob Frey reached out to Gov. Tim Walz to deploy the National Guard to the city. The mayor’s office did not immediately respond to Fox News seeking comment.

Social media users posted videos on Twitter that showed burning businesses and looters entering a local Target store and making their way out with bags full of items.

Isn't Minneapolis where the Australian woman was shot dead by a cop?

Yep... Justine Damond.

Why no riots then? No CVSs' looted? No burning down the city?

And this shows the lie. "We wouldnt have to bust sh^% up if we got justice!" Well, this act was almost universally condemned the second thoe videos popped, police were fired within a day, most likely prosecutions coming, but still they sh^% where they live. For some, this is about justice, for most it's an excuse to wild out....

"Please maintain 6 feet distance, wear masks, and frequently wash between looting trips! Your Bureau of Health & Safety Thanks you for your cooperation." or..."If you need assistance while looting, ask if your partner has been Covid-19 free for at least 14 days. Please report any contact you have had with infected persons so that we may safely test you. Remember, Stay Home with your loot & be healthy!"

Well, those masks cam in handy, for the felonious arsonists and the folks breathing in noxious fumes. It this act a contributing fact to CV-19 deaths/illnesses?

One of the key building blocks for financial growth is stability. Businesses won't grow, entreprenuer's won't try, banks won't invest UNLESS there is an anticipation that PROPERTY WILL BE PROTECTED. Why do so many 3rd world places linger for centuries in poverty when they have MANPOWER+Resources+ ACCESS+Intelligence?...Because property is not adequately protected.

What can protect property? Body of Laws & Application of Justice...If either fail: property is NOT protected,...and economic failure remains.

So...what are we actually looking at in Minneapolis? A public that lacks those TWO ingredients. And what is the result: Property is NOT protected and the final outcome: Further dependence & poverty.

This principle is so simple it could be put in an illustrated children's book.

Some facial recognition should be done with the video's they have of looters and these people should be tracked down and punished.I am sure Target had camera's in the store. Use them.

It would be easy to use facial recognition because many of these people will be shopping in these places later on when they get restocked.

Yep, and it took the media some time to get onboard. Probably because it was a white woman. Then they likely ran from it once the cop was identified as an immigrant from Somalia.

The first amendment protects your right to say any damned thing you want.
Now there are still laws against speech which encroaches on other's liberties; speech which maliciously hurts others.
The whole "fire!" in a crowded theater thing.

But if we want to go about outlawing the expression of things that aren't true, we might as well sew up the lips and tie the hands of every person in America.

Oh but - BTW - this does indicate what DeeJay and I have said, often - the left feels free to lob any insult or calumny the want - because it's TRUE.
No one else has this right, because everything THEY say is FALSE.

I can't tell you how shocked I am that a protest about police brutality turned into a looting spree. Nothing says justice for what's his name like getting some free swag.

You have to wonder why law enforcement doesn't take action to curtail any looting.

During the LA riots, the Korean business men took matters into their own hands.

Seems to be the official position of all city enforcement nowadays. Didn't Stephanie Rawlings-Blake of Baltimore tell the cops on the Freddy Gray riots to give the rioters space to destroy??

Yep, and they should have water cannoned those kids on the first day when they were tossing rocks at the police....
Being tumbled down the street and have your clothes and skin rubbed off takes the life out of an unruly crowd.
It would have saved that kid from the embarrassment of having his mom drag his a$$ off the street in front of the National news cameras.
He will never have street cred........

Up. Identified. Lase. Fire. On the way.
Certainly a part of the Minneapolis riots is based on race issues. But there seems to be more to it, as in Minneapolis has turned into Portland. As such, it seemed like many of the "protesters" were Antifa types.

Minneapolis' mayor, Jakob Fry, is literally reaping the results of his hard Left ideology.

The looting does nothing to help the African American cause to solve issues like the Floyd incident as it plays to stereotypes, re: behavior. Yet, it was interesting (to use a word) to see so many non-African Americans join in on the looting (at least in the number of videos I saw). So a part of the rioting/looting (I don't know the percentage) certainly has an underlying Antifa anarchist base.

Two potential positives. First, in the tobacco shop defense sub-story the shop was defended by both armed whites and blacks. Second, there is a real possibility that MN flips red in November as many in the traditionally liberal state are seeing how left-leaning policies are playing out (e.g., the Antifa-like presence in these riots, the Dem governor's fascist lock-down, Ilhan Omar embarrassing the Somali community, etc.).

Funny you mention that, I was noticing some antifa types in the footage this morning.
