How is the phone being charged? Seems to me that battery would have pooped out after a few days.

Let's hope it is a hoax because the alternative in these cases is grim.
:yeahthat: And if it does turn out to be a hoax, I hope her momma slaps her when she gets home. :ohwell:

Can't the phone company flag her phone and pinpoint her location with GPS?

only if her phone has GPS on it...........and it's turned on........some don't
Must be an older phone then.
Or she's keeping it turned off to conserve battery.

My phone is a year old and doesn't have GPS.
I thought most modern digital cell phones (within past 2 years) had a GPS chip in them. Meaning that even though you can't use the GPS, the cell phone company could track your phone's movements if they wanted.

Is that not correct?

That was my impression too, my phone is around 3 yrs. old and wasn't a high end model at the time and it has it.
