Missing Hounds

Three of our hounds are missing and we would appreciate anyone's help.

The hounds were last seen near Loveville Road in St. Mary's. We recovered some of our other hounds north on Morganza-Turner Road and as far south as Clover Hill Road. The missing hounds may have roamed farther north and south and may have even crossed to the east side of Rt 235 and the west side of Rt 5.

These three hounds may be together, but most likely are by themselves. All are friendly, but they may be skittish and hard to catch.

If you have any info or sight any of these hounds, please call 301-259-2275.

Make sure you call the Tri-county Animal shelter too. And check back with them a few times, if you don't find them right away.

We got our dog from the pound several years ago. He was a hunting dog that had roamed too far and his owners never called the pound to check.

Yes, we did that. We also called the county Animal Control department who is now on alert. Our deputy friend let the Sheriff's Department know. We put fliers up around all the neighborhoods in the area.

The best bet is to spread the word as much as possible in hopes that someone may have seen one recently. We really want thes guys back.

Thanks for your help.

What are the dogs names. Maybe it will be easier to get them if found by calling the dogs names? Good Luck
I bet they are named Jacknife, Kong, and Kermit.

Update: We have Jacknife and Kermit back.

Jacknife was found a few miles down lower Rt 6 across from Morganza-Turner Rd.

Kermit came back to the farm on Loveville Rd.

That only leaves Kong still missing. His is the picture in the middle.

Thanks.

It's been a week and a half now. Jacknife was in sorry shape when he turned up. I just hope Kong has found some food and a place to hole up thats out of the elements. Good luck, buddy.

But wait, there's more...
I hope Kong makes it back home soon! :huggy:

Semi-:offtopic: but goose, what breed is Kermit ... the third one? I have a dog who looks almost identical to him (see pics below) that I adopted from a family about 2 1/2 years ago and they swore he was a purebred beagle. Not knowing much about breeds, I didn't care; he was just a sweet little adorable pup and he got along great with my other tri-color beagle. I think he's got some blue tick hound (or whatever they call that breed) in him but I'm not sure and never knew how to answer when asked.

Kermit is a Penn Marydel strain of American Foxhound. He is one of a few we have with the blue tick appearance, but most of what we have is of the tri-color variety.

I have run into a number of rabbit hunters with their beagles and I always comment on how much the beagles look like miniature foxhounds. They are definitely cute little guys. :yay:
