Location:12000 Pleasant Valley Rd in Smithsburg, Washington County, Maryland.

Narrative:

On 04/12/2020 at 3:32 PM, a citizen reported locating a deceased adult male in a state of decomposition in the area of 12000 Pleasant Valley Rd in Smithsburg, Maryland. The body was discovered along a power line clearing approximately ½ mile from the roadway. The clothing description of the deceased matched the last known clothing description of missing person, Stephen Geer. Mr. Geer had been reported missing from his residence at the 23500 block of Foxville Rd on 02/11/2020. A Maryland State Police evidence technician responded to process the scene. During the course of the investigation, the deceased was positively identified as Mr. Geer. The deceased will be transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Baltimore for an autopsy.
