Miya went out for a potty break this afternoon (12:30-ish) and hasn't been seen since. I was hoping she'd just show back up, but thought I'd better post before it gets much later.

She's an 8 month old St Bernard mix, 60 lbs. She's not wearing a collar. She is very shy, and probably won't go near any houses. She is chipped, wish it worked as a GPS :frown:

We're near Spring Ridge Middle School.

Thanks!

They're out to get us
sucks :frown:

always keep her collar on in the future. they don't mind it whatsoever (heck my dog feels naked without it) and then you have a much easier time of finding your dog if they wander away...especially if they're ever going outside unsupervised.

good luck!! i'm sure doggy will turn up

Thanks to anyone that had their eyes open for Miya...first big crack of thunder she came barreling out of the woods! I'm sure she was just three steps ahead of us the entire time we were searching.

Hubby thinks the collar bothers her, gotta impress upon him that she needs that collar!

:yahoo:

glad she came home! but a dog with that much fur probably won't notice it. even if it's a little loose, it's better than not on at all if she wanders off

Collars can also choke a dog if it gets caught on something. Mine don't wear any either unless we are taking them out. I do have a fenced in yard though.

Mine doesn't wear one either but they make breakaway collars for that - or choose one with a plastic clasp and they have more of a chance to break it rather than choke.

When I do put a collar on her I write on the collar her name and our phone number in permanent marker. You can also order collars with it stitched on.
