Mitsubishi LCD TV

Hi all!

Hubby decided he "had to have" a new TV for the bedroom. Went to the Big Screen Store in Annapolis, and a few days later a 46in tv was delivered. Ugh.

Anyway, after only having the TV for a month, we noticed red lines going down the left and right side of the screen. Called Mitsubishi, and they said that they panel needed to be replaced. Already?

Tv should be coming back today, hopefully. It's been gone now for almost 6 weeks.

Anyone else have a problem with Mitsubishi? Maybe we just got that one bad apple? I can't imagine this happening in a month, to a 4-thousand dollar tv.

Personally, I didnt see anything wrong with the $1500 one at Bestbuy. The guy at the Big Screen Store told us that the TV hubby bought, was the best on the market! HA! It also happened to be one of the most expensive ones there, at the time. Such a sucker.

Was looking at a bunch of them yesterday and Sony had the best picture, but I'm still hesitant on buying an LCD. Read where they only last about 5 years and they go bad. Don't know how much truth there is to that, but investing around $1500 to $2500 for a TV that won't last. Nah.

I was thinking the same thing. Good news is..the TV is back, and better than ever. (ever= the month we had it before it went bad) Thankfully, after the 1 yr manf. warranty...the 5 yr extended warranty kicks in.

That sounds more like a plasma tv to me.

+1 for buying Sony or Samsung.

I just bought a 37" (plenty big enough, they look tiny in the stores because they are towered by 50+") for 999 of newegg. I did the "billmelater" thing but ended up paying it off a couple days later... LCD'S (should i say good LCD's, i.e. Samsung/Sony) are not going to "break" in 3-5 years. Plasma's go out and are more prone to "Burn In". LCD monitors have been around for a while and they are still kickin after 5 years... Well, I am very satisfied with my TV and don't regret it at all... I'm glad that I got the 37" (I was originally going to get a 46 which would have been waayy to big)... G/L

I hear you on that! When they were bringing the TV in this morning..it looked sooo tiny in the driveway, but when they put it back on the wall in the bedroom..it was huge again. We used to have a 57" widescreen in there..before we finished the family room downstairs...lol...it was like sitting in a movie theatre..in bed.
