WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.-- Parents do what they can to provide the best they can for their children. It's their innate duty and responsibility once the child is born.

So what happens when their children grow up and disrespect and misbehave, even keying the family car?

One mom in Winston-Salem said she's had enough and she's currently on strike.

Naasira Muhammad tells WFMY News 2's Ben Powell she's on strike from parenting because her children's behavior is out of control.

Muhammad made a sign that reads "Mom On Strike." For the past two days, she has marched up and down Waughtown Street near her house to make her point to her children.

There's passive; then there's just plain stupid.....like the kids GAF about their Mom marching with a sign. This woman should take the energy she put into making that sign and marching, and beat the sh*t outta them.

If I ever intentionally 'disrespected' either of my parents; or 'misbehaved;' let alone doing something like keying the family car, or vandalizing/destroying anything that wasn't mine, I got my a** handed to me. Same thing for my little Brother; though he got the belt more often because he would openly defy M&D; but that was it. He never intentionally 'disrespected' anyone or vandalized stuff that wasn't his.

It's not always the kids' fault they are the way they are. Sometimes it's the parents' who are to blame.....for stupid things like picketing; when a firm hand with a belt in it would wake the little delinquents up.

Pathetic. I'm trying to think of what my mom would have done to me if I'd keyed her car.

Parents have all the power in a parent/child relationship, yet instead of exercising that power they do passive self-pitying "look at me" things like this picket nonsense. You don't give teenagers a "time out", dumb ass, you take their car keys and cellphone. You ground them. You refuse to take them to activities. You break bad on their ass if need be. It's not supposed to be easy and it's nothing personal - it's a parent's job to teach their kids respect and boundaries. Quitting isn't how you teach that.
