Sorry, I deleted this because I realized that it sounded more like an advertisement than a discussion

Hello everyone. My name is Erica and I am the new owner of Kiddos baby and toddler gym in California, MD. Very shortly I will be starting a mommy and me gymnastics class but first I wanted to get some input on what time and days work best for those mommy's that are interested. Also if any daddy's wanted to bring their kiddo they are more than welcome. The class will be between 30 and 45 min of stretching and learning the basic fundamentals of gymnastics. I will teach you techniques that you can use in your own home for spotting forward rolls, cartwheels, handstands and many more skills. The remainder of class time will be free play until we have reached one hour from our start time. I will take a maximum of 8 children per class. I feel it is important for the child not to get overwhelmed by a crowded class. It also gives me more time to assess each child's individual needs. The classes will only be open to children 16 months through 4 years of age. Sorry for those of you who have older ones but Kiddos is only a baby and toddler gym for now. If you are interested in the gymnastics class you must purchase a 10 play group package from the kiddos website or in the facility at the time of registration.

Any feedback is welcome. Thank you for your time. I look forward to meeting you and your kiddo! Please visit the website at kiddos baby and toddler gym for updates on when gymnastics classes will begin. You may also send me your contact info if you would like a notification.

How much are your classes and exactly where are you located?

It is $110.00 to purchase a 10 session package.

Directions:
Traveling South on 235, Kiddos is past the Target shopping center and
Hickory Hills shopping center. We are immediately past San Souci Plaza on
the right behind the Mountain Mudd stand in the leonard realty building.

I left a link to the website above just click and I'm sure any other questions you may have will be answered and if not feel free to ask away!

Why are there no playgroups on your schedule that cater to the working class?

As stated in the first post, I am asking for input on times and dates for a new "Mommy and Me" class, so please let me know what works for you.
Right now we have a play group on Wedensday from 5-6pm and are trying to get enough interest to bring back the 5-6pm group on Tuesdays. We also have an open gym from 9am-1pm every Saturday.
We need at least 6 kiddos to register for a play group in order to hold a session. I would love to have more interest in the evening play groups.

Your website says that the groups are open to 3months-3 year olds but you put 16 months-4 years old on here. Which is it? I'm asking because I am really interested in this but I have 3 children. They are 3 and a half, almost 21 months, and 5 months. I would love to see weekend groups!

The 16mos-4yrs is only for the "Mommy and Me" gymnastics class. Our regular play groups are for 3 month through 3 years of age. We don't typically allow children over 4 to be in a group with 2 year olds. I hope that helps and if any of this works for you we would love to see you guys. Thanks for your interest.

Hi Erica,

My hubby, daughter and I have been to Kiddos a few times and enjoyed it quite a bit. Congratulations on your new business!

I've been doing the Parents & Tots gymnastics program that Parks & Rec offers in Lexington Park on Saturday mornings. It's nice, but not very structured -- the entire thing is free play so you don't really feel like your little one has picked up any new skills. (Not like I expect cartwheels from a toddler, but some sort of instruction would have been nice. Also, the "instructor" seemed very lax about getting involved with any of the kids and was more just supervising the playtime.)

I guess what I'm getting at is that I would LOVE a program on Saturday mornings -- my husband and I both work full-time and we really appreciate when others make a special effort to provide activities for working parents. I really like that you mentioned that your class will offer kids some sort of instruction so that there is a tangible goal (trying a somersault, walking on a low beam, etc.) each time around. I did gymnastics as a kid and think it's a great way for toddlers to gain a bit more coordination and self-esteem -- all while having fun!

Thanks for considering this for a weekend class!

That's great. I figured weekends would be a great time for most. I currently am also the kidnastics teacher at SMAC in Charlotte Hall. I came up with that program. You don't have to be a member to come and classes are very small because most of the local kids are doing soccer right now. It is a great price but I will be ending it very in a month or so because I need to devote more energy to Kiddos. I would love to see you guys if you want to see what it's like. It's at 10:15 am on Saturday's and usually runs 45 min.

I called the phone number can not leave a message on the phone because its full and I went to the place to see what it was like and the placed said open but the door was locked and no one answered when I knocked. Where else can I take my 18 month old so she can meet kids and I can meet some new people.
