"Biden: Monkeypox threat doesn’t rise to level of COVID-19", so why did you say what you said Joe? "Monkeypox likely spread by sex at 2 raves in Europe", "CDC sounds alarm for gay & bisexual men"

“We know monkeypox can spread when there is close contact with the lesions of someone who is infected, and it looks like sexual contact has now amplified that transmission,”

We always knew that Joe. So why did you go out recently to scare the nation? You achieved what you intended.

Expert: Monkeypox likely spread by sex at 2 raves in Europe

We knew this and have said this. Then why the hysteria and misinformation and duplicity by the media? “We know monkeypox can spread when there is close contact with the lesions of someone who is infected, and it looks like sexual contact has now amplified that transmission”…”Health officials say most of the known cases in Europe have been among men who have sex with men”…“It’s very possible there was somebody who got infected, developed lesions on the genitals, hands or somewhere else, and then spread it to others when there was sexual or close, physical contact,” Heymann hypothesized. “And then there were these international events that seeded the outbreak around the world, into the U.S. and other European countries.”

I wish to be more straightforward in this substack for if we can share information at some level that could help us reduce risk, we should.

If the monkeypox lesions/pustules can appear on genitals (we know medically and as reported), this may be why there is a reported heightened risk among bisexuals and men who have sex with men. This elevated risk has drawn recent warnings by CDC. Given the mode of sexual intimacy, this may increase the risk of transmission (bursting of the lesions/pustules etc.) and thus this at-risk group must be informed etc. If what is stated here can account for the risk of spread, then it is important to have frank discussions to help inform the risk group so as to reduce risk and morbidity. This may indeed help explain why the elevated risk in gay and bisexual males and offers an opportunity to acutely public service message to this group. We would also want to collect data from females in such similar relationships to establish if there is a risk differential by gender.

Explains why we've seen fewer posts from Hemirhoids....

Ok, let me get this straight:
The “patient #1” had lesions, pretty nasty looking ones, on his dick. And at least a dozen other dudes still had sex with him.

Would any sane person see lesions/pustules on their sexual partner’s junk, and say “Nah, nothing wrong going on here — let’s go at it”? WTF?

Someone once told me of a trip to a Mexican bar where they had an older prostitute who was called a pecker checker take a peek at the John's tool before entering the rooms in the rear.
Maybe the gay bars should give a thought to this.

UN Agency Decries ‘Homophobic and Racist Stereotypes’ in Monkeypox Coverage

On Monday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) alerted gay and bisexual men that monkeypox appears to be spreading in the gay community globally.

Dr. John Brooks, a CDC official, emphasized that anyone can contract monkeypox through close personal contact regardless of sexual orientation. However, Brooks said many of the people affected globally so far are men who identify as gay or bisexual. Though they may have greater chance of exposure to monkeypox right now, that doesn’t mean the risk is limited only to the gay and bisexual community, he cautioned.
“We want to help people make the best informed decisions to protect their health and the health of their community from monkeypox,” Brooks said.

Monkeypox is not a sexually transmitted disease, which is generally passed through semen or vaginal fluid, but it can be transmitted through sexual and intimate contact as well as through shared bedding. The virus spreads through contact with body fluids and sores, Brooks said.

Taking a page from the AIDS playbook, representatives from one United Nations decided to take the viral justice path and decried reports describing the information on the current cases as “homophobic,” referring to racism for good measure.

UNAIDS released a statement on Sunday condemning reporting on monkeypox that includes “portrayals of LGBTI and African people” that the agency said “reinforce homophobic and racist stereotypes and exacerbate stigma.”
“Lessons from the AIDS response show that stigma and blame directed at certain groups of people can rapidly undermine outbreak response,” the group’s statement said.

The U.N. agency added that a “significant portion” of cases reported thus far were “identified among gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men, with some cases identified through sexual health clinics.”

It urged “media, governments, and communities to respond with a rights-based, evidence-based approach that avoids stigma.”

“Stigma and blame undermine trust and capacity to respond effectively during outbreaks like this one,” UNAIDS Deputy Executive Director Matthew Kavanagh said in the agency’s Sunday statement.

🙈 Trending Politics ran a story yesterday headlined, “Wuhan Laboratory Found to Have Conducted Novel Monkeypox Research One Year Before Global Outbreak.”

What awful disease WEREN’T this crazy Chinese scientists working on in that Wuhan lab?

The article reported that a February 2022 study published in Virologica Sinica, the official journal of the Chinese Society of Microbiology, explained the process for artificially enhancing a monkeypox virus. The kicker is that the study’s authors include, you guessed it, scientists from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, which continues happily tinkering with dangerous viruses to this day.

It gets better. The study’s lead author and publisher is Editor-in-Chief Zheng-Li Shi, now the DIRECTOR of the Wuhan Institute of Virology, who you may recall was widely known in 2020 as the “Bat Lady” who researched how to increase transmissibility of coronaviruses at the lab. Looks like she got a promotion for all that excellent work.

Investigative journalist Sharyl Attkisson recently suggested that the new monkeypox virus may also have gained increased transmissibility functions, somehow. Attkisson wrote, “This isn’t like previous encounters with the [monkeypox] virus. The widespread nature of the outbreak and evidence of frequent human-to-human transmission has researchers questioning whether the virus has changed to become more transmissible.”

Yes, but HOW could it have changed to become more transmissible? One day we’ll have to look into what’s really going on inside that Chinese lab. If only we had a huge federal health agency that could … oh never mind.
