Kat Timpf mocks left-wing outrage over Monopoly's new 'socialism' edition

Hasbro, the maker of the beloved family game Monopoly, released a special edition of the game called Monopoly Socialism. The satirical twist on the decades-old game replaces Monopoly's traditional player tokens with a phonograph, a pocket watch and an old fashioned rotary phone. And instead of players collecting $200 when they pass "Go," the socialism-themed edition instructs players that will receive a $50 "living wage".

Hasbro is in business to make money.
If the game sells, they are making money---------Ipso facto.

I’m assuming there is a Chance card where the president demands all companies to vacate China?

Hilarious

Of course, along with "Congratulations, Comrade, you won a lake house for not rasing a fuss about the Party running unfair primamry elections" cards, and special Democrat Party only "Never Go To Jail" cards. Oh, and the awesome "Congratulations, you received a FISA warrant that requires your leading opponent to tell you every move he's going to make before he makes it".

I like the Chinese version of the game where there's a card that says "Oh, crap, our economy is tanking, we better make nice with President Trump."

Don't forget the "you exist, therefore you must buy a product that meets our standards or be fined...if you fail to pay the fine, you will be jailed! 'Cuz, we care and we're here to help!" card.

I think it would be grand if US American company CEO's and Board members, could, in some way, be tried for treason for offshoring their manufacturing leaving only a shell of a company in name only headquartered in some city such as New York with the corporation chartered in Delaware.

Hey Trudy, how about the card that mandates your company hire 10% transgender workforce, oh yeah and a card that says only certain minority owned companies can bid on public projects??? Oh wait we have those...

The old railroad stops have been turned into charging stations for electric cars., and Boardwalk is now Trump Tower. If you stop on Illinois Ave. you get shot and have to go back to Go and start all over.

Point to remember - HASBRO came out with this - not Timpf. She merely commented on it. It actually came out a year ago.

I'm amused that anyone would make a game with the words "monopoly" and "socialism" in the same phrase,
as they are opposites. One would sooner invent a game called Torture Paradise.

Hmm, in a sense, socialism is the ultimate monopoly. Instead of a private company have a monopoly on one aspect of life, the Party has a monopoly on every aspect.

Do NOT do a Google image or video search for "Torture Paradise." Just sayin'.

I'm buying this for the kids since the will not listen to us about socialism

The appeal of socialism to kids is exactly the kind of reaction you think a kid will have -
they believe they will be the recipients of lots of free stuff and get it with minimal - or zero - effort.
I have a relative who can't wait for Universal Basic Income - so he can sit on his ass and do nothing -
and still get paid. I'd be terrified of UBI - because if it disappeared suddenly, I'd have no bankable skills for a job.

In their world, you dont need job skills. When the checks stop you just loot and plunder everybody elses stuff.

And they tax you for the privilege.

Do you realize how many of editions of Monopoly there are? Literally thousands, Hasbro is looking to make a buck, they'll stick whatever label they want on it.

The original game, created by lefty Lizzie Maggie, had two sets of rules, but quickly people only enjoyed playing using the "monopoly" rules:
