Yeesh!

But I mean really did she do these things???
When you are a guest in another's house, you do not declare what you will and will not eat - unless you are positively allergic to something.

You do not remark that you do not have enough food.

You do not start before everyone else.

You do not take additional helpings without being invited to by your host.

You should never ever insult the family you are about to join at any time and most definitely not in public

The chick is a diabetic so yeah she probably needed to point out a few things like "Oh I can't eat that sorry"

I'ma color Heidi Withers desperate, needy and pathetic. Presumably she dated her fiancee prior to agreeing to marriage, and therefore knew what kind of family she was marrying into. The first inkling of mom-zilla was her cue to exit stage left, but she didn't. So she pretty much deserves what she gets.

I don't get what the big deal is about a lot of those things...like getting seconds? Ok, if you're at a formal dinner perhaps getting seconds is rude, but she was at her fiance's parents' house. Sounds like his parents are stuffy jerks.

Maybe the inlaws lived out of town and she didn't really see them very often.

It comes down to how you are raised I guess. We were raised that when eating dinner together you wait until everyone is seated to eat and you dont get seconds until everyone is finished w/ their first plate. Otherwise I could seriously see a Christmas Story situation where I'd never sit or eat :lmao:

I don't know that I agree with that.... I think there are a lot of marriages that work with crazy inlaws. You can't really judge someone by how their family behaves. How they react to it yes but not the initial offensive behavior. I'd have told him that his mom was a biatch and if he didn't take some sort of action I'd have told them all to suck it.

After she received the email, she should have called off the wedding. If this is what step-monster is like now, wait until they're married and the gloves really come off. That will strain, and probably destroy, even the most stable relationship. And especially now that the whole mess has become public fodder.

The MIL is out-of-line with her last comment, but the rest of it, the bride-to-be had better adhear to while in the company of her inlaws...unless she wants to rumble. Learning etiquette has seem to have been branded as outdated and useless....that is....until you are invited over to a home that appreciates it...then, your ****ed.

IMO, they both screwed up.
