The Monster Rockfish Tournament was postponed until this Saturday, November 5th due to inclement weather. This is good news as the conditions on the bay were unfishable. Many of our smaller boats opted not to enter the tournament as a result. With the new date several days away, there is still time to register for the tournament. You can register online at Monster Rockfish Tournament or this Thursday evening in Solomon’s Island. This will be a by reservation only meeting. The location is to be announced. The times will be between 5:00 – 8:00PM. You must call 1-877-390-BAMM to receive the location. You do not need to attend a meeting to register.
RULE CHANGES and CLARIFICATIONS:
1. With the tournament taking place after the Monster Rockfish Festival, we have opted to allow anglers to keep the fish they enter. We will still be keeping the first place winner’s fish so that it can be mounted for the lucky winner. All fish that are in 2nd through 4th place or TWT winners will be held until 5:00PM before being returned to the angler. All fish must have an MRFT numbered tag secured through the mouth and gills to be registered. Unwanted fish will be donated.
2. All fish to be contested must be done by 5:00PM in writing on the day of the tournament. We will need to know who is contesting the fish and on what grounds.
3. Charter boat captains and crew are allowed to enter with or without parties.

We are still counting on you to spread the word about the tournament, now more than ever! For every boat you refer to the tournament, you will receive a $25 rebate check. All they have to do is put your name in the referral blank on the registration. Let all your friends know about the tournament this weekend.
New Tournament Prize added: Sea Tow of Southern Maryland is offering a $500 prize to the Sea Tow member that catches the largest Rockfish! If you are not an annual sea tow member and would like a membership (and a chance at an additional $500) contact Sea Tow of Southern Maryland at 301-737-1611 or see them at our captains meetings in Calvert or St. Mary’s Counties. They will also be offering 10% off memberships at these captain’s meetings only. Thanks Sea Tow!
This year’s stakes are higher:
Based on a minimum boat entry of 200, First Place will receive $20,000!
Second Place, $7,000 and Third is $3,000.
Enter a Tournament within a Tournament and the prize money goes up!
