June US release date for Moore's film
Michael Moore's controversial and award-winning documentary 'Fahrenheit 9/11' has found a US distributor and is now scheduled to arrive in American cinemas on 25 June.

The Fellowship Adventure Group - the company set up by Harvey and Bob Weinstein to handle 'Fahrenheit 9/11' - will join with Lions Gate Films and IFC Films to distribute the film.

Comments: I sure hope Americans are smart enough to figure out what's fact and what's fiction. What's scary is that many people could make up their minds on the election based on this film.

Yes, well, I've been hoping that for almost twice as long as you have (because I'm almost twice your age) and so far, nothing. :ohwell:

Did you ever hear about the original radio broadcast of "War of the Worlds"? It was about an alien invasion and was broadcast in the 30's. Despite the announcer mentioning several times that this was just a fictional story, people all over New York and New Jersey freaked, convinced the Martians had landed. Thousands of people evacuated their homes and a few killed themselves.

And here's an interesting human phenomenon: many people reported that they actually heard the President on the radio, calling for evacuation. Those close to where the "invasion" was "taking place" reported smoke and bomb blasts - they said they could actually SEE them. Of course, this is ridiculous because nothing was happening at all. But people are so stupid and so hysterical that they will convince themselves of anything.

This is what the Democratic party reminds me of today - the War of the Worlds nutballs.

Believe it or not, as young a whippersnapper as I am... I have heard of the War of the Worlds original broadcast and the ensuing chaos.

I'm pretty sure most people in their 20s have heard of it. It was discussed in my American History class in high school.

Hey, there are lots of times I refer to something that should be common knowledge, only to find that some folks never heard of it or have suppressed the memory.
