I've been an active member of several other forums for awhile. Several of them adopted the "nicey-nice" policy. They ended up with a huge influx of newbs and their opinions; which would've been great had the average level of intellectual content per post not slipped into the abyss. Basically, people started posting more and more garbage- that wasn't even humorous- because the fear of backlash for refusing to think was no longer present.

The jury is still out on "wtf" and "ufb". I don't find those particularly offensive.

This decision was made yesterday, during the day from hell, when someone *ahem* decided it would be funny to register a derogatory user name targeting another member. Wave bye bye to him! :howdy:

Then someone else *ahem* thought it would be cool to post someone else's personal information on here. Granted, it WAS on the internet for the whole wide world to see, BUT that doesn't mean it should be perpetuated on here where the community is a little closer.

There's fun and goofing around, then there's just just out and out meanness. It will do some of you good to practice acting like grown-ups.
