The family of 31-year-old James Evans says he's very into music and often posts song lyrics and videos on Facebook, but they never imagined those innocent posts would land him in jail.

Family members say Evans posted the following on Facebook on August 24:

"Student bodies lying dead in the halls, a blood splattered treatise of hate. Class dismissed is my hypothesis, gun fire ends in debate."

The family says it's lyrics from the song "Class Dismissed" by the band Exodus.

Mike Drake, the Muhlenberg County school resource officer, says multiple agencies received calls concerned about the post.

So Evans was arrested for terroristic threatening.

The warrant says Evans was arrested because, "he threatened to kill students and or staff at school."

Is this really a 31 year old man? Or is it a 13 year old boy and someone transposed the digits.

Oh, but of course. You have no way of knowing if he was serious or not, so of course arrest him.

I do have serious doubts as to the veracity of this story, but haven't seen any followup news stories.

I didn't understand what the OP meant by is it a 13 yr old. Is that about how bad the news reports or are we shocked a 31 yr old would like that song? I like violent lyrics about many taboo subjects, doesn't mean I'm dangerous. If this is true as it stands, everyone who over reacted should owe this man in some way, though the damage is done. Stupid to have your FB open for all to see, stupid to have such crappy friends.. then again FB is just stupid imo.

It's a little immature to post lyrics like that on your FB where anyone can see it. Usually by your 30s you have a little more public decorum.

Applying the Vraiblonde technique for skeptical inquiry: BS! They didn't just arrest him because he posted some lyrics on his fakebook page. At most, they might have gotten him for copyright infringement (in which case, he still might have gotten arrested, because...cops). There is either something seriously wrong with this story; a lot of missing context, or he has a helluva case for false arrest and a clear case of infringement of his 1st Amendment rights.
