I don't know what to believe. Some are saying 8-12 inches (Justin Berk) and others are saying not even an inch for us (NOAA). I'm not getting my hopes up for "the big one".

He is usually pretty dead on, I think in part to holding off for so long instead of speculating a week ahead of time. I was starting to get excited lol I could use a couple sleeping in lazy days.

That's the truth. If we didn't have 2 fireplaces, I would have bought a generator. I am thinking it would be nice if this snow storm would coincide with Val Day!
We have a wood stove insert on the main level but, with no power the blower doesn't work to move the hot air :/

was posted on FB this morning by a FF friend in GA, this is from their chief. I guess even a little snow in GA is a catastrophic event.

URGENT!!! Please begin making preparations now! This is a possible catastrophic event.
Do not wait until it is too late.
:yikes:

Another forecaster's predictions... this time Christopher Bressi

This is his "worst" case scenario map. His "best" case show us only getting a couple of inches. I can't understand how the range can be so wide.

Looked at the weather channel this morning thinking they would back it down, nope, sounds like it's going to be even worse than they were saying last night, good luck everyone, hope it's not as bad as they think it will be.
Got any spare bedrooms? A pull-out sofa? .... um cots? I'm going to arrange a caravan of folks to head your way tomorrow. Stock up on groceries and beer please .

I have heard people complain the cheap generators break down after 1 or 2 times being used. When I got mine I bought a Honda.
I have two Hondas. One I bought in '84 and it still starts on the first pull.

I was just offering a real cheap option to get thru the winter.

ok - I understand. I am sure I am supposed to do some maintenance on the generator, but it hasn't been used that much. Longest I ran it continuously was about 2 days.

I run mine once every 1 or 2 months, and turn off the fuel tap until it runs out of fuel. Also add Stabil Green to all my fuel. I've never had a problem with dirty carbs, always ready to be used.

I know, NBC keeps showing 1-2" for St. Mary's.
