More student loan thoughts.

When the repayment "pause" is lifted on 12/31/2022 (allegedly), 34 months of non payment will have passed. According to smartasset.com the national average for student loan debt is $28,400 at 4.66%. With a 10 year term that ends up being $297/mo. IF that person had saved that money they would have 🥁$10,098 ready to dump straight towards the principal on 1/2/2023. Even if they had saved only half you are still looking at a $5049 lump payment.

It's usually good to be #1 in your category, right? Well ....

Here’s a look at the 10 states with the highest average student loan debt per borrower across the U.S.

1. Maryland

Average debt per borrower: $43,619
Total outstanding debt: $36.3 billion
My only question about this number is how many of these borrowers are organic Maylanders versus transplants employed and now living in Maryland.

The majority of "organic Marylanders" can't do third grade math, so yes these are mostly implants. This also means they are most likely employed with a decent income and can pay their loans.

I don't think this holds up if it hits the courts. Pelosi is already on record saying the president can't forgive loans, only Congress can do that.

If it gets overturned, Brandon can say well at least I kept my campaign promise. Blame it on the courts.

But I recall obama saying how he can't just make immigration law on his own, that it took an act from Congress. Then he EOed DACA. The courts said it wasn't legal but allowed it to remain because removing it would be too disruptive.

If I was a defense lawyer, I'd argue that sending my guilty client to jail would be disruptive to his and his families' daily life. There is court precedence.

A few day ago she said that under the Heroes Act of 2003, the President does have the authority to forgive loans.

The DoEd shoehorned that in there, but Title 42 was repealed in May which effectively ended the "state of emergency".

I wonder why banks that issue student loans do not check the performance of these borrowers. I mean... Isn't that weird? When I try to get a credit card, a device loan, or a home mortgage, I have to contact my Mortgage Broker Swindon. Do you know why? Because I constantly have to prove to the bank that I'm able to work or that I'm healthy and have a good credit rating. Then why do all kinds of idiots get student loans without questions? It's just an unthinkable turnover of money that goes nowhere. All these implants will likely end up in the courts for non-payment of loans later. But they won't admit their mistakes.

Same reason they give $600,000.00 loans to inner-city borrowers with an dusky complexion and a 433 Credit score.

Majority of Student Loan Bailout Plan Recipients to Spend Money on Travel, Eating Out

Many people have suggested that Biden’s plan was little more than a bribe to young voters. Well, guess what? It worked.

From the Insider:

Biden’s student-loan forgiveness is at risk. It may have helped stop a ‘red tsunami’ as Gen Z flocked to the polls to save their relief.
If President Joe Biden didn’t enact broad student-loan forgiveness, Republicans may have gotten the electoral wins they were hoping for.
Gen Z may have helped.
Leading up to the midterm elections, the polls were predicting massive GOP victories across the board, allowing them to regain significant control over the House and Senate. But as the results continue to trickle in, it’s become clear that the red wave turned into a ripple, with control of both chambers of Congress too close to call the day after the election.
