So why is it that when you get mashed 'taters and gravy, the "gravy" is dark brown and beef flavored, and not light colored and chicken flavored?

Gravy Master & Kitchen Bouquet don't contain any beef. It just colors the sauce. You don't even have to refrigerate them after they are opened.

That's why I said "beef flavored" and "chicken flavored". Genuine imitation gravy. 😉

But it doesn't change the question: Why beef flavored and not chicken flavored?

Interesting thought, mind trick. It does taste beefy to me, but I've never been blindfolded to try. Then why not chicken colored to make the illusion complete?
