You all are looking for a GSD right? Here's what I know about this dog, contact me if you are interested....

"Eddie is only 1.5 years old and also a very nice dog. Both dogs are having trouble being here in the shelter; Eddie is doing the usual GSD vocalizing, spinning and jumping"

From today's email: His in cage behavior is deteriorating; he's spinning, whining, barking and generally displaying the usual symptoms of very high stress.

Outside the kennel, Eddie is really a nice dog. He's only a year and a half old and a real sweetheart, so we really don't want to euthanize him, but we are starting to have to look at whether keeping Eddie here in a situation that is causing him such distress is fair to him.

Good Catch! You will love him! Great w/ babies and kids!

Do you know Eddie? I grew up with my cousin's K9 cop GS and my best friend's very well behaved GS. I plan on socializing him, taking him to puppy play dates and training classes. I don't want my pup to be fearful or unstimulated where he/she resorts to such behavior as he is displaying. He'll be part of our family so we have to do things for and with him too.

No, don't know Eddie. I have had German Shepherds....Such great dogs! They need some room and not a cage, I am sure he will become adjusted to his new life very fast...They are very intelligent dogs!

 He is so handsome..... and you know I'm home all day. Pm'ing you for detalis.

He's not in a foster home he is in a shelter/humane society and this is all they know about him:

Unfortunately, I don't know. He was brought to a police station when his
owner could no longer care for him. They called us and one of our
officers went and picked him up, so I have no background. How young are
the kids? I would say he'd probably be fine with kids over 8ish, but he
might knock over a little kid.

I definitely don't think he'd bite a child, he's not mean, but he does
show some guarding over his food- he didn't growl during his assessment,
but he gulped faster and bit into his food harder when the assessment
hand tried to move his head out of the bowl. He would need to be
supervised during mealtimes if there are kids in the home. I would also
assume that he should be supervised when having something of high value
like a rawhide or a bone.

It's fine if he might knock over a small child, we can work with that, I have a tall 7 year old and one itty bitty due in Nov. so the child thing isn't an issue. Our cat is indoor outdoor and they will learn to get along, she has been around dogs and knows how to stand her ground and avoid. What shelter is he at? He needs me :huggy:
