It's been awhile. It was ok. Everything is pretty much fried. Better make sure they're open before going down there.

Soliciting for opinions.....(especially 7th District folks)

Looking for a good, off the wall, 'interesting' resturant for our 21st Wedding Anniversary...
:howdy:

It's ok. Nothing spectacular. If given the choice, I'd choose Fitzie's in Compton.

And depending on how many people you are thinking of including in this occassion, Fitzie's can accomodate large crowds better than I remember Morris Point being able to.

Last week we were looking for a place to eat, nice atmosphere, quiet, ect. we lucked out and had a great meal with great service at the place across the street from the Tiki bar. I think its called Badfish. I had the stuffed rockfish and thought Id gone to heaven. Just a thought.

It's a decent place to eat. I'd pick something much nicer for any special occasion though. At one point, Morris Point was a good dining value. But they have their prices up now that they have developed a customer base. Meanwhile, there are places in the same price range that are closer to Hollywood for me. As someone else mentioned, I don't really care for the deep fryer either.

Morris Point has decent food. The family that runs it is top-notch! So you can't go wrong by dining there especially if you like to investigate restaurants which are off the beaten path.

Fitzies is a good choice in a similar category and much more convenient to my house!

Thanks everyone; Fitzies looks interesting too....We're always looking for good, Southern Maryland style home cooking....and we both love seafood. Last year we went to Tides for our anniversary, while it was very good, this year I want something laid back, relaxing and 'different'.

Fitzies is yummy and has an outdoor bar thing going on when the weather is nice:yay:

Food at Fitzies is usually pretty good, but it is rather noisy in the dining room; some curtains or hangings on the walls would dampen that a bit and make it more enjoyable. Nothing there now (last summer, anyway) but bare walls and tables. Nowhere near as noisy as the Captains Table in Solomons though.

Went to Morris Point once, but couldn't figure out where/how to park without ending up in the creek, on a boat, or in someone's driveway, so turned around and left.

I'll always be a fan of Capt. Leonard's. Not waterfront (bummer), but very good food.
