"Marie Robinson's apartment was stocked with food and the rent was paid, but her two young children were found dead from malnutrition and dehydration nearly three years ago in what some call one of the worst child-neglect cases in recent memory.
Trembling and shifting her weight from foot to foot as she stood before King County Superior Court Judge Michael Hayden, Robinson pleaded guilty Thursday to two counts of first-degree manslaughter in connection with the November 2004 deaths of 16-month-old Justice Robinson and 6-week-old Raiden Robinson, and one count of reckless endangerment for mistreatment of a third child. Police say they found Robinson passed out, surrounded by more than 300 beer cans, and with a blood-alcohol level five times the legal limit for driving.
