Mother Board Issue?

I plugged my PC into my TV using the HDMI cable and it worked great for a few weeks. Last night I plugged it in and nothing. No sound or video on the TV. PC seems to be working fine for other things. Tried a different HDMI port on the TV and still nothing. Plugged my camera into the port and it works fine.

Thought it may be a bad cable so I took it to the store to test before buying a new one. They said the cable is ok and probably a problem with the mother board caused by static electricity.

Does this sound about right and anyone know a good place to replace the mother board? They said they would test it for $85.00!

lol....their diagnosis was a mobo issue without even looking at the computer? Did you take it to Best Buy?

Does the video card on your PC have other outputs that work?
