Bring us your spare breast milk! First collection centre to ¿recycle¿ mothers¿ milk for needy infants across America opens in Miami | Mail Online

Health experts have long extolled the virtues of breast milk over formula, and now a facility has been opened in the U.S. to ensure needy babies are not deprived of mothers' milk.

New mothers can pump extra breast milk and bring it into The Gathering Place in Miami, Florida, which will ship donations to Texas to be screened and pasteurised.

The Mothers' Milk Bank of North Texas freezes the donated milk for use by doctors treating critically ill and premature babies.

I didn't know you could do that. I always just figured that you had to use the manufacture recommended fluid for the model you own.

No, way back they had "wet nurses" for women who couldn't or wouldn't nurse their own. Usually the wets nurses were women who lost children and could nurse or who produced more milk than needed.

They won't even allow you to buy raw cow's milk in MD, can you imagine trying to get raw people milk here.
