State Police Motor Vehicle Collision on Federalsburg Highway near Chipmans Lane Federalsburg MD

MSP Easton was called to the scene of a motor vehicle collision involving two tractor trailers on Federalsburg Highway near Chipmans Lane in Caroline County MD. One patient was flown from the scene via Delaware State Police to Christiana Hospital and two patients were taken via ground to Nanticoke General Hospital. Maryland Department of the Environment was called to the scene due to a significant amount of fuel oils leaking from the vehicles. Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division responded as well as the State Highway Administration. The road is currently closed in both directions and will be for an extended amount of time until the tractor trailers can be removed. A preliminary investigation reveals that the tractor trailers were headed in opposite directions when one of them collided with the other one. The investigation is continuing.
