Mouse challenge...

...for one day.

I try to eat all the time, watching TV, driving, on the computer. This AM, as I was getting tuna all over the place and a glop of mayonnaise on my right hand, it occurred to me that I could keep reading and shoving food down my pie hole if I just used my left (non mayonaised) hand to scroll with. So, I wiped the frito salt on my left hand on my sweat shirt as God had intended or he would not have made sweatshirts so convenient (and absorbent) for this task and, viola, I'm goin' righty!

So...it occurred to me; my best friend, a righty, uses his left hand to mouse. I never asked why, he just does. So, now I have a mission for the day to see how it goes. I mean, I learned to use a mouse for the first time with my right and I'm a lefty anyway, so, how hard can it be?

So far, it does interesting things to your mind.

See if you can do it for a day.

I do use peoples' right handed mouses instead of flipping them for my use. Easy peasy... I taught myself to eat at my desk with my right hand. Try that, it's not easy.

...that's not a problem; I can shovel food with either hand. It just so happens that the right one got the mayo today. :lmao:

I actually use both hands.

I have multiple systems at work that I have to use - unclass and class sides. I just use them both.

Guy I know got the carp tunnel in his hand. He now uses the left for mousing, but didn't switch the buttons.

Using a mouse with my left hand isnt a problem....its when people switch the function of the buttons that screws me all up!

Now that youve mastered the mouse, what else can you learn to do with your left hand:whistle:

Heh.

We used to mess with the profs in college.

We'd change the orientation of the mouse, sensitivity, and direction!

Move up the cursor would go down. Move it a centimeter it would jump a mile.

Good stuff... Heh.

My mom is a leftie, which means we all had to leave the mouse on the left side when we were living at home. I even left the mouse on the left side when I moved out and was in college. It's no big deal. It doesn't take long to learn the buttons.

...do you mean 'didn't switch the buttons"?

The left button on the mouse is still the primary one to click stuff, so with your left hand you need to use your middle finger for clicking. I would think most lefties would have swapped the functions of the left and right buttons.

Nope - my MX-1000 is for righties only :yay:

...interesting. The way my mind works (or what passes for working) is that my right hand needs to adjust to the way I moused before; left button is primary, right click is right click. So, I am button centric in this case, not ergonomics centric or mirror image based.

This must mean something...
