Does anyone know where they do a MRSA screening test at by any chance? CMH hospital doesn't do it and my GP's office doesn't do it. I have to get one done - no I don't have MRSA  I need to have the screening done though. He doesn't know where I'd get one done. Any ideas? Anyone else get one done? Hopefully something that has Saturday hours too

Most staph colonizes in the nasal passages right? They swabbed my nose for it a few years ago in the Drs office..in the Bean building...sorry I know that is not much help..you probably were exposed to it last time you got that bad neck infection..you might very well be colonized...I bet alot of peeps are..

Try Calvert Internal Medicine, Dr. Pomila is great. His speciality is Infectious Disease. I've had MRSA and went to him. He doesn't treat children though, Children's Hospital does.

I'm not sure what any of that means  and where is Bean Building??? Is there a doctor's office there I can get checked. Yes, I did contract MRSA in 2007 when they removed half my thyroid at the hospital. A MRSA infection took over and thanks to the urging of Kizzy and Elaine on my private forum they told me I need to go back when I was getting badly infected. So thats what it was... now... jumping to 2010  I have to have a type of brain surgury done in October. We can't afford to take any chances on a MRSA infection, but I cant find anyone that does this... a simple nose swab  Dr. at John Hopkins told me to ask GP to do this for me...well.. my GP is NOT John Hopkins... He doesn't know either

Thanks!!! :flowers: I'll call tomorrow!! By any chance any Saturday hours? I know I'm being greedy but I'm out of leave with all the medical appointments, But if it comes down to it, the most important thing is to make sure I'm still MRSA free. I believe I am but we NEED to make sure before this surgury. Thanks! :buddies:
