Who's had experience with developing apps in Office? I've written a zillion things in VB, but never specifically for Office, and always with Visual Studio.
I'm not even familiar with what you CAN do with an Office app, except for basic stuff with Access.
One of our customers is hinting at the idea of a VBA app where he has a Word document linked to some data on a mainframe. That's actually easier than it sounds - making an attached table in Access is fairly simple.
He's also hand-waving about charts and graphs and so forth, and at this point I'm thinking maybe Office isn't the best way to go - we already have some stat packages that do some of that, and they're already ON the back end. In an X-Window on HIS desktop, all he'd need to do is look at something written in SAS and fiddle with the settings.
Is there a good site online for showing just what you can do with Office? The latest versions of SAS link VERY well with Excel spreadsheets, and I'd like to see what I can do for this guy.
