Mulch and Topsoil

County Landfill for mulch is free, topsoil how much. Great Mills Trading Post, depending on the size they will deliver, if small amount they will let you load your pick up or trailer for a small fee.

don't go to maximulch. I bought a whole truckload from them this spring. Their website lists "natural mulch". It also mentions that they do forestry recycling and have dumpster services. Well I think they combined all 3 services into 1 in order to produce my mulch. It was dried out, dusty, and filled with garbage (cans, bags, burlap, random pieces of metal) and industrial waste such as ground up OSB, plywood and pallets. Never again.

They don't deliver. Some of the other places would only deliver if you bought a LOT of mulch (like a full dumptruck) and then there was a $40 delivery fee on top of the cost of the mulch.

Bowles Mulch on the Flat Iron Road in Great Mills. They charged 2 scoops of mulch for $24.00 last spring. I don't know if they delivered, but they were quick and easy when you used your truck bed to fill it up with. They used the bulldozer machine with "scoop".
