i've tried two songs both under 30 seconds, when i save them they are 5.xx mb in size. i sent one to my phone and never received it. what is going on. oh and by the way the original mp3 files are 3.xx mb in sizeBigSlam123b said:This is a quick guide on how to create MP3 ringtones using only free tools.
1. Download & Install Audacity & FreeRIP
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
http://www.freerip.com/
2. Open MP3 in Audacity, highlight the part of the song wanted, press control-c, control-n, control-v
3. Edit the segment, I suggest highlighting the first/last second and do Effects->Cross Fade-In/Out
4. Save WAV: File -> Export as WAV
5. Set options in FreeRIP: File -> Options -> Encoding
Mode: 0-Constant (CBR)
Stere: 0-Mono
Min Bitrate: 32b
6. Open WAV in FreeRIP: Tools ->Convert Single Audio File
NOTE: Make sure you make them no longer than 35 seconds and no larger than 125K. You may have to play a little to get it the way you want but it's worth it.
You have to follow the instructions exactly. The last step is where you convert it back to mp3, which should keep it under 125KB.The Jackoholic said:i've tried two songs both under 30 seconds, when i save them they are 5.xx mb in size. i sent one to my phone and never received it. what is going on. oh and by the way the original mp3 files are 3.xx mb in size
