I was freezing my tush off. I was the genuis that didn't dress warm enough. I had my fleece on and a hat. I didn't wear for normal layers because it had been warm during the day.

Next weekend I am back to wearing my layers again.

CMC did the boys ride, because I don't think I saw you.

There are a number of people who deserve a lot of credit for the Flat Iron festivities:

(of course) Bubby Knott, who is generous beyond belief for doing this. Don't think it ends with paying the electric bill. Some local people have a hard time financially this time of year, and this in one free thing for them to enjoy with their families.

The girls who run the stables, who do a lot to work around these events. If these weren't happy, healthy horses, the public would not be allowed through to enjoy them.

The guys who work at the farm, who are on duty for a full month making sure that everything is in working order, cleaned up, porta potty's emptied, etc.

The boarders, who give up their evenings with their horses and use of the arena. Let me say, as one of them, that it's worth it with every smile we see!

I'd like to pass along a copy of this post to each one of them, so they can see how much their hard work and generosity is appreciated.

Does anyone have pictures and/or videos uploaded from this year? Should I expect a large line of cars and/or people this weekend? (I'll be coming from Waldorf and I'm not sure my elderly parents are going to want to sit in the car for much longer than the 44 mile trip out there). Thanks!
