Jeff

Stop Staring!!!!!
I was outside for the intial call so don't have alot of details.

I think Loveville Rd. is shut down. 2 Serious injuries for the Flyout. Trooper 7 with 10 minute ETA.

1523: One Elderly female unresponsive but breathing at this time

1534: Paramedic on scene advises Injuries are not life threatening. Flyouts are due to age and unresponsiveness.

1525: MSP Resconstructionist on the scene. I think there are two vehicles involved.

1527: Operator of vehicle 1 has a suspended license. Numerous DWIs

1528: Units on the scene advising Loveville Rd. going to be shut down for a while. The intersection of Loveville Rd. and Busy Corner Rd. needs extrensive cleanup.

On scene units now confirming possible 2nd flyout. Trooper 7 is direct.

1532: 2nd Flyout is 21 YO male. Priority 2. Does not remember what happened.

1534: Command advises Trooper 7 taking both patients.

1535: All patients out of the vehilces and being packaged up for the Flyout. Trooper 7 medics with them at this time.

Reconstruction crew advises they are going to be awhile.

1538: MSHA being requested for traffic control assistance.

1549: Trooper 7 airborne with 2 patients. Enroute PG.

1552: Command Terminated. All units except Company one can return to service.

1607: Police on the scene confirming an alcohol influence report going to be submitted. Trooper 7 advises the 'suspicion' the driver was under the influence.

1623: I have been kinda busy around the house here. Was trying to keep an ear on this to see when the road was reopened. As of yet I have not heard anything and suspect I missed it.

In My Opinion
makes me want to grab a beer and hop in the car.

seriously though, I hope everyone made out ok in this.

I hope the one driving drunk, if that is the case, gets the full extent of punishment allowed by our weak laws.
I guess that means, a slap on the wrist.

What is going on in Southern Maryland???? The car accidents are numerous. Kids dying, people driving drunk????? When will they learn???? It is party season and yes people have a few drinks, but common sense needs to kick in and give someone else the keys to the vehicles. I just dont see the need to drive after you have had a few, is it worth a DUI or DWI for a few beers???? That poor lady that was hit was probably driving home after christmas shopping for her grandkids and just as tickled as can be she found that perfect gift. Now she is on her way to a trauma center because she was hit by some idiot who had too many and wasnt supposed to be driving anyway. I hope the victim is okay and she is home with her family soon. God bless her.

It's not just because it's the holiday season. There are a lot of people driving on suspendeds and accidents due to DWI's. It probably isn't just here. I think it's becoming a sad fact of life because it takes so long to do something about the repeat offenders and even then they still drive without the license so it's like a no-win situation. The jails are already over-crowded so what is the answer?
