MVA

3 times in the last year my tags have expired on vehicles I own. I realize its my responsibility to keep track of these things but over my 50 odd years of having a car I guess I got spoiled by MVA sending out tag renewal forms. I received nothing from MVA in the mail or email for these 3 vehicles. The first car's renewal was last year so it was before the Covid issue, so I can't blame that. Alot of people I've talked to say the same thing has happened to them over the last couple years. Wonder what their issue is cuz it's a known problem and they don't charge you late fees to renew as they say it happens all the time.

I always get emails well before they expire.

They might be going to your spam folder?

No, check my spam regularly to delete. I have never received anything from the MVA via email, and neither has my wife (AFAIK).

I made the mistake of letting my tags renew and the COVID happen in the same month.

Took me until the beginning of June to get my tag sticker. They wouldn't let the post office forward the "Paid for" stickers to the new address and insisted I had to come in to do a proper change of address and get my stickers.

So I politely asked, "HOW THE #### DO I DO THAT WHEN YOU'RE CLOSED AND NOT EXPECTED TO OPEN ANY MONTH SOON?"

After speaking with a supervisor, emailing a crap ton of bs information they wanted... I finally got my stickers. ( And had the pay the late fee )

I usually renew our vehicles online a couple months ahead of time. No issues.

This happened to us a few years ago. We were on vacation out of state when I noticed that the tags had expired in May and here it was September. We did not get a mailed renewal or email notice. I went on the hotel computer and printed out a temporary registration in case we got pulled over while on vacation.

Sounds like I am just lucky..
I must have better luck then.Got a camera ticket in PG county that I paid but got a notice from MVA saying I didnt and they want 30.00 to not suspend my registration. I traded in my old truck for a new one (switched tag) now have a notice for no insurance on old one. You cant call MVA and you cant go there. They are making life very difficult.
