My babies

Just wanted to tell you about my two babies that we rescued from PetsMart. Harley, the calico, and Polly, the tortie. They are too cute; all they do is run around chasing each other, wrestling, then grooming each other. I caught them spooning each other the other night while they were sleeping. I'll put up pics when I get them.

One of my cats I rescued from PAWS. The lady that owned it loved to lie to people about the cats so they would adopt them and take them home. I fostered the cat I adopted so I knew the real truth about him and didn't have to find out later. He was taken from a person who found him and turned him over to PAWS but he kept threatening to not feed the cats so the owner took them away (he and his brother) we took him to pet adoption days and everyone said how ugly the cat I have was (hes adorable) hes got this really nice and silky looking coat and its so soft. I have had him for i think close to 6yrs now. If I am to get another animal cat or dog its going to be a rescue.

Both of the cats we got were rescued. Harley was taken from a crazy lady at a farm by the human society. The lady had all the kittens in a pen and wouldnt let the mama cat feed them. A neighbor called and complained, she got rescued, and the rest is history. We are Polly's second home. The first people who adopted her had to give her up because their baby developed allergies. My fiance saw her in PetsMart and fell in love immediately. Come to find out she is a few french fries short of a happy meal. She meows at the wall, falls off of things, and chases her tail. But, we love her anyway.

I adopted my cat, Tucker, from animal control last year. I am at least his 3rd home. He had been adopted 2 years before that by a couple...and they brought him back. Animal control said they didn't know why they brought him back. I know why. It's because he pizzes in the house constantly. Nothing I do makes a difference. Changed his litter, his litter box, had him tested for a UTI (negative), got him his own litter box, etc.......I am seriously getting tired of it. He is 6 years old, and I hate to bring him back because he's already been bounced around so much. I'm at my wit's end.

There is something called Feil-away. It worked for a while for a cat that i had. It realses some kind of hormone in the air and helps them. NOt exactly cheap but it is defientaly worth trying. It wasnt a pernmeant fix either for the one i had but might be for yours.

Where did you get it? Is it like an air freshener, or do you put it on the cat?

I found it. It might be worth a shot. I need to order some stuff anyway, so I'll give it a try. Thanks!

cowgirl does he have a specific thing he likes to pee on? I have a cat who likes to poop on my moms bathroom rug that sits infront of the dryer so I have picked it up and she has now figured out ####ting is supposed to be done in the litterbox no accidents since then but if I put the rug back out shes back to ####ting on it again. I think she just likes it because it has long strands on it and she can kneed them as if it were catlitter who knows but I do know my male cat chased out her of the box when she was going to take a ####.

He likes to pee on the bathroom rug, in our closet, and in the corner near the front door. I'm sure there are lots more places I can't find. I think this weekend I'm going to thoroughly steam clean every scrap of carpet I can reach, and hopefully the feliway will work. I am out of ideas and patience.

Someone left me green karma wanting to know what happened to the cat. WE Had to put him to sleep becasue of this issue. My mother was the orginal owner and moved and also passed away. He was not the same after that and went into a depression. I know this sounds crazy but i had two different vets look at him and both said the same thing. So now he is in heaven and hopefully with his owner:)

How is it a resque if you buy it from a store. Wouldn't it be a rescue if you saved it from a burning building?

No..the rescue groups are allowed to show their cats there and carre for thema nd clean the cages and rotate the cats so none stay there too long in the cages...
Groups do not supply PetsMart with cats....the cats belong to the groups.

 So how do the cats in Petsmart get there? THE RESCUE GROUPS BRING THEM. :jerk:

P.S. I worked at a Petsmart in college....a rescue group brought us the cats. We took care of them....not them. The cats stayed until they were adopted out, and WE filled out the adoption paperwork with the new owner.

Hmmm, it might be different with different Petsmarts and rescue groups. I know I had to wait for the people from the rescue groups to come to the store and I filled out all paperwork with them. The lady that I got Polly from only let the cats she was in charge of stay at the store for a couple weeks or so, and it they werent adopted yet she would take them home to give them a break from the cubicle for a little while before trying again.
