Super fleas.

These fleas were the last fleas born under a red sun .... they hurtles through the cosmos to land on my dog that lives under a yellow sun. Now they have fantastic powers.

Such as the ability to withstand Frontline, Flea and Tick Shampoo, Fogging every room in my house, a full bath every other day, and coating every inch of my yard with Sevin.

HOW DO YOU GET RID OF FLEAS!?!?!

We vacuum every carpet in the house every other day. These creatures should have passed on to the choir invisible a moth ago!

ARGH!

The vet has pills called capstar and once the dog takes the pill the fleas usually die off of them within the hour. As far as your house, I would suggest maybe bombing it if they have it for fleas. But I know for a fact the capstar pills work serious wonders in killing the fleas very very quickly and I if I remember correctly the pills are pretty cheap, like 3 dollars a peice.

Call a pest control specialist. And have your dog treated in flea-dip. We have a guy that comes by every 4 months or so to spray the house. (It's like 80 bucks a pop). We also have no ants, flies or spiders near our house that I'm aware of. (Ticks still drop out of trees onto people and animals though)

Preferably time it so that you take your dog to the vet while the exterminator is at your house. That doesn't always work, but try to get it at least close to avoid cross-contamination.

I thought dips were dangerous... or is that just for cats because of their excessive licking?

Inside and around the immediate perimiter... The trick is that he also gets all the parts where the fleas go hide when you fog your house.

We had a bit of a flea problem for a while, and we flea-bombed the house like 5 times, upstairs and downstairs (and that gets frickin expensive after a while). And it would work for a about a day then they started appearing again. And the flea shampoo worked so that you could see the dead fleas dropping off the dog, but there were always survivors, and a few hours later, he was scratching again.

We also have a cat infesting the house that had fleas, (in fact, she's the original flea-tracker-inner), but all the animals are happy and boo-boo free now.

 I don't think we've ever dipped our cat, but we haven't had any problems with the dog.

The only time he gets sick is when he eats people food.

We had this problem with our dog and we tried everything. I just went to petsmart and went into the vet area and asked for help. I also had used over the counter flea treatment and was unable to get rid of them. They recommended Vectra which also has a money back guarantee if it doesn't work. This was a perscription and a 30 day supply was 16.00 for one dose. We use it after having the same problem you seem to be having and finally our golden is able to sleep. The fleas are gone it worked in 12 hours.
