My doggie the heroin

My elkhound was acting odd a few weeks ago. I think it was a tuesday night. She finally got big dad to take her out. First she dragged him to the right, the she stopped and pulled him to the left and then down a road we never walk on cause it is a steep one in the ranch club. My huubs said the neighborhood dogs would bark and then pause, and then he heard what at first sounded like a cat. The dog pulled him further down this road, and then he heard it was a person and saw a small flashlight. The temp was in the lower 30's, and it was raining. There on the ground was an older lady, with 2 tiny dogs. He ran over to her and she told him she broke her leg. He covered her with his coat and ran to her front door and the womans daughter answered. An ambulance was called. It turned out she had emphysima, and her ankle, or foot was dangling by flesh only. She severed every bone. Had she layed there much longer it would have been bad. A couple of days ago, her daughter dropped off some gift cards to a restaurant and thanked us. Her Mom is still recovering from surgery and she hurt her larynex from yelling for help. From now on when our doggy asks to go out and drags us around we are going to let her lead.

She severed every bone. Had she lain there much longer it would have been bad. A couple of days ago, her daughter dropped off some gift cards to a restaurant and thanked us. I love your post-BUT isn't it heroine instead of heroin:lmao:

WoW -- Thank goodness you guys didnt yell and tell your dog to go lay down. :huggy: Good to know that your dog has such great instincts and kudoos to your husband for doing what most people would dread (going for a walk in the cold and rain) and in a direction he usually never takes.

I got goosebumps when I read this! Extra tummy rubs to your doggie and a pat on the back for your hubby for following your fur-child's lead! :yay:

(Why hadn't the daughter noticed her Mom and 2 doggies gone, though?)

Aww :huggie: Great story. I'm going to go home and tell my elkhound this story to see if I can motivate him to greatness...
