This is my new doggie George (I didn't name him, but the name suits him!) He's a 9 year old terrier mix and the sweetest dog ever!

Where did you get him from?

He was at a "foster" home. He was owned by a vet at Mid Atlantic Specialty Hospital (MASH). The vet has a few kids and they would pull on George's ears and be a little too rough with him (not on purpose). George didn't like it too much. The vet had him since he was a puppy. He's a very good dog. House trained and everything.

YOU RULE!!! What a great looking dog. You saved him from life of child imposed hell. While I'm happy you saved him, I'm bitter at the vet for teaching the kids that it's easier to get rid of the dog rather than making the kids treat the dog with respect.
Still....YOU WIN!!!

LOL - Actually I think the vet has another dog (I think it's George's brother) and he doesn't mind the kids. I don't think George was all that excited about them though. That's the only reason he gave him up. But the vet really does care about George, he cares enough to supply me with free food and he will pay for any medical bills that may arise along the way. Can't beat that!

I can see why you fell instantly in love... :yay:

Yep - he's a cutie! And he is soooooooooooooo good. Never goes to the bathroom in the house, hardly ever barks. Only thing - can't get him to eat out of the dag on doggie bowl. I have to put his food on a paper plate. Not sure what that's all about. He will drink water out of the bowl, but won't eat the food.

I had a neighborhood stray around here like that. I'd put food out in a bowl and she'd dump if before eating it off the ground.

Maybe try a different bowl? Cute doggie BTW.

Yeah - I was thinking about buying some metal bowls. Maybe he doesn't like plastic? Didn't know dogs could be so picky

My pooch won't eat from a metal bowl b/c her tags clank on it and it freaks her out. I tried to be a hard-@ss once and figured if she got hungry enough she'd eat out of it...but she didn't eat for 2 days! I gave in and put her food back in my kid's plastic plate that has a small rim all the way around it. Picky pooch!

It was Wellness that Bear turned his nose up at, so I tried it on the neighborhood chowhound but she must've been getting homecooked meals around the corner because I saw her there every morning. She'd come down to eat Bear's cookies though. She was a cute little dog but more mutt than anything else.
