Just posting some of the pics i take here. Tell me what you think.

Here is a pic of my daughter. I think the pic is good but it seems to be missing something.

I think if what she had been holding contrasted better with the background, that might be whats missing?

I can't see these on my work monitor, but I looked at them on my phone. Looks like a very nice exposure and nice lighting! Good job. One thing that many of us have problems with when we take pictures of people is, attention to the background. Your background for this image is very nice, but you have to watch that fence rails, branches, and other items aren't right behind a persons head. It will make it look like they are coming out of the persons head. I think if this was angled a little different, the fence rails weren't at head level and clear of her, it would be a stronger image. That would also put here face and head in the nice blue sky background and give that separation or contrast others have mentioned.

Just my 2 cents.

I'll agree with jbr.. great exposure, good lighting. The only thing I would suggest is follow the rule of thirds and put your subject somewhere other than right in the middle. Maybe open up the apeture to blur the background more so it's less distracting. Just my thoughts on the portrait. I really like the ladybug shot.

A good book that i was told to get was " Understanding Exposure" It has helped me out a lot. You should get it. It will help you take great pics with any kind of digital camera.

Just picked this book up from Amazon. Unfortunately they didn't have it to go in my Kindle. :ohwell:

Thanks for the tip! :yay:

My thoughts as well. I would crop the right portion of the photo out. Crop out the vertical post that extend out of the photo and your daughter will end up on in the right third of the frame. Very cute photo.
