My pipes!!

Dayum. Burnt my pants on my pipes yesterday. Big blob of whatever my pants are made of is on my exhaust and it's there like cement. Anyone know of anything that will get this off?

Tried it. It's on there like it's welded. Even tried warming the pipes up and hitting it with some.

I've heard of some folks using 0000 steel wool, but I'd be nervous about using that.

Yeah, I've got to go get some of that BlueJob stuff and work at this for awhile. Don't want to change pipes unless I have to.

My roommate did this one time with her pants and it melted on just plastic.. we let the bike run so the pipes would get really hot then used a nickel to rub over the area and it took it right off.. once we got the majority of it off, we cleaned the pipes with chrome polish.. looks better then before once we finished!

I've got some stuff on mine from the previous owner, haven't tried too hard to get it off yet. Let me know what works for ya'.

Shorts and long tube socks.

...just shorts. Flesh burns off fairly quickly and there isn't as much to begin with because of the tendency for the skin to not be applied to the pipes as long as pants often may be.

Plus, it usually happens only once.
