"My Will" or "Thy Will"?

Romans 5:12 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned—
13 To be sure, sin was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not charged against anyone’s account where there is no law. 14 Nevertheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin by breaking a command, as did Adam, who is a pattern of the one to come.
15 But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many! 16 Nor can the gift of God be compared with the result of one man’s sin: The judgment followed one sin and brought condemnation, but the gift followed many trespasses and brought justification. 17 For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!
18 Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people. 19 For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.
20 The law was brought in so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, 21 so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Good morning. Boy this is some complicated stuff to deal with this morning.

It occurred to me. All the people who could be counted, from the time of Adam [and the Apple] to Moses [and the Commandments], have been counted. So, everyone who was around during that time.... have been counted and there won't be anymore. They are all dead, except Enoch and Elijah [prophets]. Even Moses. Dead.

Now... check this out. The number of people who could be counted, from the time God gave Moses the Commandments until Jesus came along, knew the rules of the game but still tried to cheat. God gave Moses the game rules. There were only 10. Humans didn't [don't] follow the rules but still expected to win... that's cheating.

BUT... The people who came after Moses and the Commandments still can't ALL be counted. We're still making new humans. God's still letting women have babies. So, there are more of us than there were of them. So, since the Commandments [the rules of the game] were provided, there were so many more who had the rules of the game, but still cheated.

Along came Jesus. He showed us how to play the game the way it was intended. Some couldn't be bothered. Some wouldn't give up the old ways. Some even accused Jesus of breaking the number one rule.

The number one rule is.... Love God! That's the same in both the Commandments and the rules clarified by Jesus. Love God! Choose God!

Jesus told people He loves God as a Son loves a Father. He would do anything for His Father.

When Abraham took Isaac to be sacrificed [and God gave Abraham a ram instead]. Isaac didn't choose to give himself as a sacrifice.

When God sent Jesus to be sacrificed, Jesus gave Himself up. "Thy will be done".

So, all the humans who were born after Jesus haven't been counted yet... because there are still babies being made. As long as there are babies, there are new humans who will choose.

All the humans after Jesus can decide which rules they will live by.

Will they choose "My will be done", making themselves gods?

Will they choose "Thy will be done", making them children of God?

Which do you choose?

"My Will" or "Thy Will"?
