How old is the puppy? Is she used to the name? If she it used to that name already and it must be changed try to keep a name that sounds the same so that she will respond instead of retraining her to a new name. JMO

she's a year old and apparently has been kept up in the same kennel as her momma this whole year. Well last night i was sitting there playing with her and i kept calling her coco and she didn't pay anymore attention then the man on the moon. So i assume they didn't use her name with her frequently, but she's very smart, she actually already knows how to sit and lay down. and she's so pretty

if she doesn't know that name than go for it. you could call her Chessie because of the patch on her chest.

Chessie sounds like a Bay Retriever though. I like Patch, even for a female. Or how about Cotton? (Her patch looks like a cotton ball).

Where did you get her from?

We have one at the Kennel that sounds similiar in color and her name is Faith.

i'm not sure where he got her from he lives in hollywood and he said it was about 10 minutes from the house

Watch her habits for a few days before you decide.
We once had a cat named Max, because he sounded like a perculating coffee pot when he purr'd - Maxwell House is our brand coffee.

Name her after our dog Casey.

Does she have a "spot" on her nose or anything like that?

I named a cat "Button" because she had white spot on her black nose.
