That's appalling! I hope that woman is prosecuted to the fullest extent and is never allowed to work with children again!

I would never hire someone like that to take care of my kids if and when I have them. She is awful who in there right mind would pick a baby up by its pj's and who would let a baby dangle off there legs or better yet have the babys face stuffed into the couch cushion because shes too into watching tv and doesn't pay any mind to the baby and seeing he/she is in that position and move him/her . This stuff just makes me sick.

That is disgusting. Those types of people are what gives us good nanny's a bad name! UNBELIEVEABLE! I surely hope that she is prosocuted to the fullest extend.

Don't shoot the messenger...but in Maryland, because of the way our laws are written, it is possible no crime is committed here. For child abuse there has to be an injury to the child, and same for neglect. Don't blame me for this message, I HATE the way our laws are written, but by viewing this video, I can't see a crime. I'll be happy to look again if someone can point it out.

I have a serious urge to smack the tar out of that woman. Is she crazy? Those are preemies! I would never treat any baby that way but especially not preemies. It's so easy to harm babies and how she could treat them that way just blows my mind.

I know there's nothing you can do and I am not trying to start anything with you but it is so sad that one of those babies would have had to suffocate from their faces being pressed into the couch, fallen off the couch, or suffered from their heads lolling around while being carried by their pj's in order for her to be prosecuted. Hope her next charges are as lucky.

That just tells me the decision I made to be a stay at home mom was well worth all the penny pinching we had to do for me to stay home! There is no way on God's green earth that I would EVER leave my kids under the care of strangers! I question even leaving them with some of the people I do know! Nope, not me! I gave birth to them and I am going to take care of them not someone else! Sorry to all of you who are unable to stay at home, I know that sometimes it can't be helped, but if I thought I couldn't stay home with them I wouldn't have had them. That just my opinion!

Your not starting anything with me. I AGREE whole heartedly with you. I think the law should be changed. We are reasonable people. We know what is true neglect or not. The problem is in the law, not the enforcement. Every cop I know would love to see this woman rotting in a jail!

Just because my daughter goes to a day care center does not mean that I don't take care of her! Yes, it is true that as a single parent I am not allowed the luxury to stay home with her. Again, when I was still with my @sshole I was still not able to afford that luxury. I knew that before I got pregnant - but that never once deterred me from having a child - and I don't think that I should have deprived myself of children just because of it. My daughter is happy, healthy and leads a very good life.

I am often consumed with "mommy guilt" because I can't stay home with her. I think there's also something to be said for raising her to be self sufficient and not have to rely on anyone else to survive. Now, if she meets and marries someone who can afford her that luxury, than excellent for her. I certainly don't look down on that lifestyle.

Sorry to go off topic here, this is something I live with day to day and it kind of struck a nerve with me.

I love the idea of using a video camera. I think every day care should have a camera parents can access whenever they want.

I am pretty sure all parents would love to take a peek at their little ones throughout the day.

I think it would be awesome too! Because not only do they know that the nanny isnt doing something foul, but they also get to see their munchkins while they are away.

SMCOP- I know and the law's are completely outrageous. I would hope that if I was like that girl, that someone would hound my ass and put me out of commission forever after a video like that. I could never imagine doing that. If that baby would have fell off of that couch, or off of her when she was dangling him, he could have hit wrong and would never be the same again. I just dont understand why people can fight for children on all angles. It doesnt make sense. ESPECIALLY for those that have no voice.

I agree. It isn't as if we can't do anything with a person like this in Maryland. There still is an avenue with social services. If the woman has children of her own, then social services could get involved and do some things that would educate this woman, and possibly (but doubtfull) remove the woman's children.

Unfortunately, there isn't any "law" broken by what I can see on the tape. We might be able to stretch an assault, but I believe we would loose it in court.
