I saw the Lion, Witch, & the Wardrobe today. I think they did an outstanding job on the movie. Would love to hear others comments on it.

On another note, saw the preview for the new Pirates of the Caribbean "Dead Man's Chest" movie today. Can't wait for it to come out. I didn't catch the release date though. Anyone have some info on that?

Was it true to the book?

I am a Chronicles fanatic and loved the movie! Please tell me you stayed to watch the credits... there is a small tidbit left to the story after the credits finish rolling... I didn't know this and missed it...:banghead:

I saw the Narnia movie the weekend it came out -- I loved the books as a kid and thought it stayed very true to the book. The actors are very good, the special effects are amazing and within 10 minutes you're completely lost in the film. I'd def. buy the dvd once it comes out.

I didn't know there was more after the credits! I left as soon as they came on.....man.....

I read every book, so it's great to hear the movie is good. What age rating would you give it?

Loved Narnia. It had a few differences from the book but didn't make a difference to me.

Pirates won't be out until this Summer. June or July.

I'd say all ages. Littles ones would definitely understand what's going on, and it's something that older audiences would want to see, too.

I thought Narnia was very mediocre. I saw it in theatres and just couldn't get into it at all. There were a few bright spots, such as Tilda Swinton's magnificent performance as the White Witch and the special effects (which no doubt most of the budget went to), but the heavy-handed screenplay brought it down. It had so many flaws, such as a scene where Father Christmas shows up out of the blue and gives one of the protagonists a magical healing potion (wow, I wonder if one of her siblings will later be wounded and need, GASP!, magical healing potion? :wench: ). How contrived! Overall, the movie's a technical masterpiece, but a storytelling failure. Not recommended.

Then again, I'm not a big fantasy movie fan. I thought the Lord of the Rings trilogy was watchable, but overrated and the only masterful Harry Potter film is the third, in my opinion.
