NAS conducting 100% ID checks until further notice

Last few days, noticed one of the sentries not checking IDs were toting a rifle.

A few years ago, this happened and it was a huge backup and it was tough getting trucks on base. Now, I'm not complaining, we just dealt with it. Anyway, we finally get to the checkpoint. Guard tells us what to do, stand in front of the vehicle, hands to your side, look straight ahead, don't turn around. My dumbass coworker puts his hands in his pocket and turns around, my thoughts, please shoot him, oh pretty please shoot him. Dumbass

Dahlgren has been doing this since before Covid. I thought it was a DOD requirement - at least that is what we were told.

The difference is that the passengers of those allowed to escort people, civil service and military, didn't need to produce ID. Now they do.
