Season opener is 42 Days away at the Daytona International Speedway in Florida.
I'm looking forward to have FUN in our 18TH season of SOMD Fantasy NASCAR .
2024 Had 20 TEAMS among 5 participants. For 2025 it would be great to have a similar field Or MORE.
Last season I spoke of some changes that need APPROVAL among us
1-before the 1st Play Off race ALL participants will pick ONE (1) Driver among the 16 playoff drivers.
IF this driver makes it to the FINAL FOUR , 5 Bonus points will be Awarded to each of the PARTICIPANTS TEAM(S)
This will be INCLUDED Along with the Five (5) bonus points AWARDED to NASCAR CHAMPION pick Bonus we have been using in Past Seasons
2- At the END of the REGULAR SEASON, Whomever that is in the 1st place position will be Awarded FIVE (5) bonus points
ALL participating Players think about these 2 new ADDITIONS to our Fantasy Game .
I believe they will ADD some much needed change to our point system
IF anyone else has ANY CHANGE SUGGESTIONS, speak out and they will be CONSIDERED among us

I would like to repose my Suggestion for #1 listed above
At the beginning of the NEW playoff format now called the CHASE , Each player of SOMD Fan
Fantasy BEFORE the beginning of the 10 race format to decide the CHAMPION, EACH player would pick ONE (1) driver among the 16 ELIGIBLE.

IF this pick survives the Format & is awarded NASCAR CHAMPION
The Fantasy PLAYER would e awarded TEN (10) BONUS Points.
This suggestion blends our CURRENT Champion BONUS of 5 points & a revised version of my PREVIOUS suggestion before NASCAR revised the PLAYOFF format
I'm just trying to put some EXCITEMENT & ENTHUSIASM in our Fantasy game
Any SUGGESTION is welcome & WE will DISCUSS

SOMD Fantasy racing will begin in under a week .
All those planning to participate in our 18 season should get your racing teams or just team recorded & entered by Sunday February 15th .Entries will be accepted after DAYTONA 500 , however you be playing catch up to leader.
Last year we had 20 entries from 5 participants. Hopefully the Veterans will return and a few " FRESH FISH "

Last season , Monello presented a good suggestion regarding the point system
Issue was WHY a 5th place pic was getting just 1 point and and ANY TOP 5 entry finishing in TOP5 was also awarded 1 point and that the WINNER should be awarded more points
So this season 5th place will be awarded 2 points & any top 5 driver pic finishing in Top5 awarded the SAME 1 POINT and WINNER awarded JUSTLY with10 POINTS
SO 1st place finish is 10 POINTS , 2nd place 5 points , 3rd place 4 points , 4th place 3 points, AND 5TH PLACE 2 POINTS
1 point will still be given if ANY pic still finished in TOP5 irregardless .
I have a suggestion on Bonus points awarded in the NEW CHAMPIONSHIP FORUM which I'll bring up closer to 1st race of NEW Champion system in September

Thanks so much, i will probably change a few before the race. I see you did what I pretty much diid last year. I had a Toyota team, a Chevy team and a Ford team. Im going to have to check out closely that we dont end up with same team. The Toyota team worries me may have to switch some positions of finish around.
